I am looking at a 1881 s proof like Morgan at a pawn shop. It has a strong cameo effect with dark fields on both sides, no baggy marks and I would say it should go at least MS 63. What would be a good price to shoot for for this raw coin?

At 63PL, an 1881-S is going to carry very little premium over grade without the PL designation. These are not rare, even to 65 and above. If you're sure of the PL, don't add more than $25 to what you'd have paid otherwise.
