Hi All,

I just wanted to let you know that the jar of pennies from my coin toss days has arrived. I haven't gone through them yet because I had an idea that I wanted to do before I even look.

Many of you know how wheatback cents are advertised as unsearched. Well for the most part I never believed them since I felt they have always been search by someone.

Well here's what I'm doing. I put 50 of these coins in a square tube and labeled them mixed wheatbacks. I now know, as a fact, that these have never been search by anyone including me. These were coins that we used in our penny toss game in the late 1950's. I am going to put up 1 roll of these pennies in the WINS auction this month.

Before you ask. No I'm not going to put up over the one roll. I just thought it would be fun for someone to see what's really in an unsearched roll.

What do you think..?

Sounds like fun! Will you remind us when they're up for auction?
If you sold them on ebay, I'd actually belive they were unsearched, which is saying something

Hey Longnine- what's an Armageddon BIE? I know what a regular BIE is, but never heard of that one!

Rachel, it's a 1951D BIE with a die crack through all of LIBERTY.

"The Letters BIE is to be understood as standing for
the 'BEST IN ERRORS' and not the diebreak between
the letters 'B' and 'E' as formerly supposed.

Catman, would you also consider putting together a roll for sale here? While some of our forum members are WINS members, most are not. If you didn't want to sell them here, maybe you could run a contest for them?
