So I picked up this today and don't know much about it or if its real or fake any info would be appreciated.

It would genuine enough, all right! I have a few, and this one looks fine to me.
There are lots of examples of these from the wreck, they are amongst the easiest obtainable of wreck coins.

They can be had for a very reasonable cost, so have a good look around before deciding to buy these.

From what I've read, it's harder to find one of these pieces that wasn't on the Adm Gardner as most of the mintage was on the ship.
