Hello all,

I recently acquired this Italian token. Its dated 1944 but beyond that I haven't a clue as to what it is. There is one listed on ebay for $18, but the listing provides no information about it. Anyone know what it is? Was it issued by the Italian Social Republic or the Kingdom of Italy?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

-XoG

I don't really know much italian, but I'm reading something like "Good for one way ride" and "Milan Streetcar Company"--so I'm guessing a metro transportation token? Pretty stylish for a wartime issue token!

It is indeed a Milan Tramway ticket. This link will give you more information and the history of the token:-

You may have to ask Google to translate from the original Italian.

That's interesting too--it sure doesn't look like something Germany would produce during the war.
The design is obviously Italian.
