In Gills book " The Coinage of Ethiopia, Eritrea and Italian Somalia" (1991) he has a "token cataloged as TK1> Professor Hahn ( Vienna University Numismatic Department) has identified it as a coin from Harrar and the subsidiary coin of the Rare 1893 Harrar Malhallek( the first coin of Ethiopia) I managed to get one of these a couple of years back I suspect that because Gill thought it was a token it is undervalued and very rare.

Harrar-Ethiopia---1-Besa-Coin--Not-Listed-In-Krause

Harrar-Ethiopia---1-Besa-Coin--Not-Listed-In-Krause

Note the lettering on the reverse (Gill assumes the Crown side is the obverse) is the Amharic Letter for "M" standing for Menelik

Those harar coins are interesting. There's a couple on ebay at the moment.

The seller in the second link is extremely optimistic. US$500 is about the current market level.

As an aside the coffee from Harrar is some of the best in the world( When you can get it)

In recent years Harrar coffee has been in short supply and of questionable quality. Try Sidama or Yerg.
