What is it meant to be and what is the meaning of 'HERODES'? I think it is a modern fantasy piece purporting to be Lucius Septimius Herod, the "senator and chief of Tadmor", the son of Vaballathus. Both coins have are from an identical die pair. bobbyhelmet Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2838 Posts	Posted 12/09/2012 08:26 am After a lot more Googling I believe the above coin (on the Spanish site) was bought from a Greek seller on ebay in August 2010 for $13US. The item title was 'SEPTIMIVS HERODES AE antoninianus PROBABLY COPY ' From feedback the seller looks honest and even described the item as probably fake. Although very similar its difficult to say they are a die match from the pictures available. Report this Post to the Staff
