I'm very fortunate that I live in a road that still has a large number of shops. Supermarkets have made it very difficult for High Street traders in recent years.
On Saturday I went to the Post Office, Waitrose, the curtain shop, the butchers, the greengrocers, the Co-op, the ironmongers, (Yes, we still have one), the optician, the guitar shop and the pub. It's highly likely that I did what my wife calls "the Man thing" and paid for all my purchases with folding currency; being too impatient to fumble for change. All I know is that when I arrived home, the first thing was to empty my pocket of a heck of a lot of shrapnel.
And look at that. All commemoratives, with very few repeats and only one business strike; and that was the 2012 50p that I've been trying so hard to find.

Perhaps 10% of Australian circulating coinage is commemorative, and I surmise that this percentage would around typical for most countries these days.
Most stamps are commemorative.
I think the same thing MAY happen to circulating banknotes, although there is there a downside risk with the notes, that counterfeiting could be more of a problem,

It's interesting that you show got all of these from circulation so easily, I've noticed that here in the states, and I suspect in the uk/canada/ australia etc, that people are building "tolerance" to commemoratives in circulation, meaning the shear number and variety of commems have resulted in them not being hoarded as they used to be. Take the us quarter for instance, there have been 5 different designs released every year since 1999, with 6 designs released in 2009. People are so used to seeing the designs that they circulate extensively, which hasn't always been the case. Anywho, I think its interesting, and a boon for us collectors. Nice finds
