So I just purchased a relatively large mix set of silver coins on ebay for a Buy it Now price. I hemmed and hawed for so long trying to debate its legitimacy even with a 100% seller rating. I haven't received the coins, but hope to use them to post my first pictures on the forum. I felt this was one roll of the dice I had to play. Anyway, how have other people fared when taking a fixed price? Any advice for the future?

Hopefully you got a good deal. Even if a bad buy, rising silver prices will eventually bail you out.

I am getting some good vibes from the lot (whatever that means!) and think it will turn out well. The only questionable coins are old German and Chinese dollar sized silver coins (the pictures weren't the sharpest quality).
Are there any folks who still have faith in purchasing things Buy it Now or have people sworn them off like a bad habit?

I don't have any problem using the Buy It Now feature if I think what I'm buying is worth it. I think it boils down to the integrity of the seller and the quality of what is bought.

Quote: The only questionable coins are old German and Chinese dollar sized silver coins That makes me Counterfeits of Chinese crown-sized issues outnumber real coins by a large margin. With that said, I'm not afraid to pull the Buy It Now trigger. Know what you're looking at, know what you're willing to risk. And either way, the chance of coming out ahead is greater than buying a lottery ticket. Ain't nothing wrong with a gamble once in a while.

Uh oh... Well I will be sure to post some photos to get help identifying the foreign borns. Thanks for that info!
Last night there was an amazing But it Know deal. I am still a bit nervous about picking the right prices, but after it was purchased in a few minutes from listing I know I missed a deal. A lesson learned!

Nothing wrong with Buy It Nows imo. Theres good ones and bad ones just like auctions. Most sellers will entertain offers on BIN prices too. I've done it before where people email me with offers and if I like it Ill adjust the price for them or separate something from a lot if they only wanted that

I list buy it now when I want a fast sale. Generally I'll scan the closed auctions and get an average price and list at about 10% less with BIN usually items will be snapped up within 24hrs. Might not get me the best return but its great for moving stuff. To many sellers list way to high on BIN and it makes mine look even more like a bargain.
