That's a beautil coin. I hadn't seen one outside of photographs. Lots of detail to it and the background pattern on the coin gives it a classic look, I think. For my taste, it outdid the gold eagle sitting next to it.
It's PCGS MS69 First Strike and was selling for $1870.00. The guy standing next to me bought the one that paired it. Thumbs up to the Mint for issuing the coin. I can't afford it, but who wouldn't be proud to own one?

I do really like the Gold Buffalos aside from the price.

That's my 2nd planned 1oz gold purchase behind a St Gaudens. St Gaidems is the one I want more than anything.

Berk, that's exactly what I said to my dealer when he showed me the Buffalo.

I've never seen a St Gaudens in person, the LCS have $20 Liberty (which I want as well someday, haha) but never the St Gaudens.

The 1 oz Buffalo gold bullion coin is my #1 favorite. #2 is 1 oz Pamp bars.

That is one of my favorite coins. If (when) gold returns to "normal" levels I will own one of these. If that doesn't happen I will always have pictures. Everything runs in cycles.

I never much cared for the buffalo coin design, even on a nickel, but any 24k gold coin would look pretty darned awesome to me!

To be honest I didn't like it at first either but it's grown on me and now I'd rather have that than an AGE (of course I have neither, nor do I have prospects for either right now) as my wife we don't think it's a good idea to buy one currently.

Gotcha, Berk. There's a LOT of that going around these days.

I was thinkng about using 1/2 of Christmas bonus on one but it sounds like new kitchen cabinets are going to trump that idea... You can bet I will be buying no fewer than 3 ASE out of that bonus though!
