As some of you are aware, I was lucky and won the CCF NFL Contest last week after 14 weeks. The winner receives something numismatic from each of the other 31 players. Well, today I received my first prize from one of the other players. Eng sent me this beautiful Byzantine Follis of Romanus III, struck at Constantinople 1028-1034. OBV: IC-XC to right and left of bust of Christ facing with nimbate cross behind head, square in each limb of nimbus cross, holding book of gospels, a dot in centre of dotted square on book REV: IS-XS BAS-ILE BAS-ILE to left and right above and below cross with dots at the ends, on three steps 9.5g, 29mm Thanks John. Great prize that I was not expecting. I love surprises.

Ooowwww, look at Mr. NFL Big-Shot!! => sitting there at home in his easy-chair, raking-in all of the coins from his poor, struggling coin-brothers!! (man => big, high-rollin' guys like you make me sick!!) ahaha => just jokes, Bing Yup, you and coppernickeldaddy were going toe-to-toe during the past half-dozen weeks (it was certainly entertaining to watch!!) Oh, and I will be sending-out my homemade coin within the next few days (it almost smells and looks like a "real" coin!!)

Thanks everyone. Even you Jerry. I just got lucky. Someone asked what my strategy was in winning this contest. It was really pretty simple. Pick a winner each week.
This is really my first Byzantine coin. I own a couple Justinian I and a Justin II, and I suppose they are Byzantine, but not nearly as nice or as Byzantine as this one.
Most of the other "prizes" will most probably be modern, as that is the interest of most of the players. Thanks again John. This one is special.
