Good price. The only problem is the shipping cost. Unless you buy a good number of coins or buy something else of value, the shipping cost is going to be a killer.

Ima not sure if thats a good deal or not only because that coin is outside of my focus.
But when I am shopping for my collection I kinda go off this list-
1-price 2- reputation of dealer/seller 3- shipping 4- surcharges (credit card fee)
so before you take the plunge use google to look up dealers, ask around like forums such as here and compare prices and that will give you an idea if thats a great deal or not :)

Their ebay shipping rates are way better. The red flag I noticed however, was 4 negs and 7 neutrals in last month alone.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-oz-APMEX-...em19d5ec3fb7I don't care about their volume. I have had 2 negs lifetime. One years back on some MOC Lone Ranger moc figures and ones bubble was loose at bottom and I missed it. I offered to refund as it was listed as no refund, but he wouldn't buy back shipping and left it before I could even email back. And the other was when I sent wrong bar to wrong guy, simple mistake on labels mix up. All parties got either paid back or correct bar later, again left before I could even send first email. Can't please everyone, but I sure can try....

By ebay standards they will be very slow to ship. I dont know if its from high volume or the fact that they only ship on certain days but anytime I've ordered from them I always got it over a week later and thats just shipping OK to VA. It was generally almost a week before I even got the noticed it had been shipped. There are some problem buys on ebay but they seem to be sloppy with their ebay listings. Looks like at least some of the orders may have been canceled due to a PM spike and them knowing they could get more which is pretty crappy if thats the reason for the random canceled orders

I've never ordered from APMEX before because they don't take Credit card from Canada and their shipping is quite expensive. But they do ship to Canada. Most online dealers do have high shipping rate and some don't even ship to Canada. I was posting the deal because I thought it was a pretty good deal (price wise)

Kitco's prices are good and there's no two ways about that. The thing about them that kind of puts the brakes on my buying from them is their $2,500 minimum order when buying physical bullion. I'm afraid I don't have the patience to wait until I'm ready to blow $2.5K and besides, that would work against the concept of cost averaging by cutting the annual number of purchases I make WAY down. A lot of us are smaller-scale buyers and $2.5K per order just isn't a realistic minimum order threshold for us. I wish I could blow $2.5K every time I scratch my bullion itch, but that's just not in the cards for me. Maybe someday (ha,ha)...

I've only bought one item from APMEX. That being a 1/10th gold coin. Their shipping is slow, but golly, it came in a big box with lots of packing stuff and sealed so that I almost needed a blowtorch to get the coin out. They have to use up more than that $4.95 shipping cost in just packaging material.

I agree with Freddy. Unless you buy massive amounts regularly saving up to buy 2.5 would be putting all your eggs in one basket for the price point

I highly recommend kitco, there prices are great, shipping is fast, customer service is top notch. They also sell Rhodium which is why I began to use them.

swrbx brings up a good point -- Kitco (as mentioned above) has competitive overall prices but is also (I think) the only big internet PM dealer that offers Rhodium. If you're in the market for Rhodium and the $2.5K minimum order threshold isn't a problem, Kitco is the only act in town.

The other issue is wether or not they have the item in stock. Still waiting for my small order of ASE's from Provident, been a couple weeks, order on hold.

FYI - goldeneaglecoin also sells the same rhodium bars, cheaper than kitco, with no minimum purchase threshold, and shipping ranges from $4.95-$24.95 with free shipping for orders over $25k. They're a fairly well known online bullion dealer, and I've had nothing but good dealings with both them and kitco.
