hey guys, I bought a lot of world coins on ebay today and spotted a coin that may possibly be silver, well at least it's white shine suggests it. What do you guys think?

Sadly, no. That one's not silver.

This is a British halfcrown, from the reign of George VI. Prior to 1947 they were .500 fine silver, but I can tell from the layout of the legends that this is the "no IND IMP" type (KM# 879) which was introduced in 1949, after Indian independence. All halfcrowns of this type are made of cupronickel - the same composition as American 5 cent coins.

Wishful thinking.
Almost all coin collectors or dealers whop would make up such a lot of coins would be well aware not to put any silver coins in the lot. A mistake would have to be made.
