... You're in the ER waiting room to get stitches on your forehead after falling down the steps onto the cement in front of your house, you check prices and see that silver has dropped below $30, and you use your iPhone to purchase $5000 worth. I went for a J&M 100-ounce bar, 2 rolls of Maples and 10 Pandas...

Wow barryg. Now I have to decide if your buy will cause it to fall a little more. I was just about to head to the LCS. I may have to rethink that and wait until Friday. The dollar drop is killing (or helping) us. Euro is on fire above $1.33.

Well, silver just dropped another $.20, so the only question now is how low will it go. I figured I'd do $5000 now and more later if it keeps dropping.

yea thats why this morning I put out to let it flush today, and give it another day into tomorrow where they will probably be more weakness.
thus far tho its a steady push down until we hit some levels of support, but whether they hold or we grind lower or consolidate market will decide.
Off hand I think the PMs are suffering overall because of the weakness in the commod complex and I think money is exiting PMS for now into other areas.
BTW Modern Coin mart was offering me 1124 for a sheet of panders lol (pandas) I think tho tomorrow brings a better price

LOL barryg, hope you heal up quick! I was SO ready to buy a hoard of silver...but like clock-work, some 'yellow things' caught my eye :) Maybe 2013 for a major silver purchase, for now I did get a few of the 'pretty' silver coins though.

Talk about making the best of a bad situation. Good buy.
I've upped my purchasing of late. I just can't resist the silver sale. Never say JPMorgan never did you a favor.
These prices are going to look ridiculously cheap in the future. The arrival of that future is what's up in the air. I tend to believe the cartel will eventually lose control of the markets and holders of futures contracts will stand for delivery and since they've sold each ounce at least 100 times, there are going to be a whole bunch of folks with a total loss. That will break the market and precious metal prices will soar to a value unknown to the history of mankind.

I'm sorry barryg, I forgot to offer condolences on your head injury, the interminable wait in the ER and it's attendant miseries.I hope you're stitched and home by now. May it be a speedy, pain free recovery.
I get distracted by the shiny things every time, I am a Crow don't you know.

@barryg---If you're still in the ER waiting for your stitches---Get up, pick up your stuff, go back to the triage clerk, tell him/her you're leaving because they made you wait too long and get out of the hospital THIS INSTANT!!
ER docs and nurses do a surprisingly small amount of sewing and the quality of their stitchery absolutely STINKS TO THE HIGH HEAVENS. I've got 3 evidences of ER stitchery on me and each was done at a respected, well-regarded hospital with a respected, well-regarded ER. One of the hospitals is in fact our regional trauma center, with the heliport on the roof and their own chopper. If you're going to get a heart replacement done, it's THE place. Anyhow--each of those 3 sewing jobs is pure FRANKENSTEIN quality stitchery. Their work looks like it was done by a drunk with a leather thong.
Go straight to your local roadside "First Call Medical" - "First Stop Medical" - "Docs In A Box" - or whatever they call themselves wherever you are. Those people do 95% of the emergency stitchery, they're very experienced in that kind of work and they're GOOD at it. I've got 5 examples of their work on me - and their work is virtually invisible within a few months.
To repeat -- RUN FOR YOUR LIFE if they haven't gotten to you yet! Unless, of course you want a Frankenstein job so you can look macho. In that case, the ER is just the place to get the job done! Either way -- best of luck!
EDIT -- P.S: Yes, I know--I do have a lot of stitches in me. The consequence of previous lifestyle choices, previous career path, etc...

Barry, I hope you are doing ok. That's far more important than your silver purchase. Having said that, it's good to know you are well enough to surf goldmart while in the ER. Nice pickup!

All right, I'm back home (finally). I didn't have to wait too long int the actual waiting room, but once they checked me in I had to wait on a gurney in a hallway for another 2-3 hours until the CT machine became available. Then, I had to wait until the results were back. And only then, after the scan results came back clean (thankfully) did I actually get my 5 stitches. About 5 hours in total just to get 5 stitches in my eyebrow. Fortunately, the hair should cover most of the scar.
Joy of joys, I get to go back in a week to have them removed...
Oh -- and it looks like silver didn't plummet further right after I made my purchase (it dipped a bit but then came back up), so that's nice.

Just a heads up, I don't know if you have insurance or whatnot, but my ER charged me $850+ to put my stitches in, and my local walk in "swift-care" charged me $25 to take them out.
