To All:

My apologies to anyone who already saw these photos in my post last week. I made the mistake of attaching it to a thread from earlier (I only started posting here about two weeks ago).

So if you missed it, here's the info. and some photos -

I got these Silver Spanish reales during a day-long outing this past June. It was one of my best days ever; the finds just kept coming - 1748 & 1750 one-real coins and a 1774 two-reales coin, early coppers, etc. All found in a empty field offering no clues to its past until you get into the ground. Even better, the house that stood on the property was owned be a wealthy merchant, who presented himself as a die-hard patriot, yet he was a double-agent selling secrets to the British Army. How cool is that?

It rained on and off that day while I was detecting, but I didn't care. Later that night, I think I probably slept with a smile on my face.

I hope you don't mind the post on this particular forum, but then again, I believe that these coins were legal tender in the U.S. up to 1857.

Best Regards to All

Those are so cool! What fun to find them... I am a gardener and I feel like digging up my potatoes is like a treasure hunt, so I can't imagine what fun areal treasure hunt is.
Cool story to go with it about double agent.

I want one too...
Unfortunately, we Swedes can't roam around all over the place with a detector, but we neeed a permission from the government in order to search a specific area. Beaches and such is ok, but since the land is littered with ancient remains, any other area is really hard to get permission to search
