Did you select that particular style of bar or do you just order "100oz JM bar" and you get what you get?
That sucker is thick. Can we get some more pictures of it?

I didn't order it specifically.
I'll try to get more pics later....

That j@m bar is toned out. Beauty and one day long from now it will turn totally black-hence the final stages of tarnishing.....
Very fishy Barry makes big buy an pmz move sideways just under 30.....
Check that darn canary-is it still breathing....

I love the way it looks right now, but I'm not sure I'll be as happy with a black bar... Do you know anything about these old stamped JM bars? Do collectors pay a premium for them?

Barry, These bars do command a small premium. I have a few myself, seems popular among collectors of JM. My advice if wanting to sell purchase a box off of ebay it will increase the premium you will get on that bar.

Wow that 100 oz'er is thick! {6 1/2 inch x 2 1/2 inch x 1 1/4 inch (165mm x 63.5mm x 32mm)}? It should probably be considered a cinder block. I have a few World Silver Rounds to redirect to if you don't mind; https://goccf.com/t/137004

Thanks, swrbxxx. No plans to resell (unless it had some crazy premium like some of those old poured Englehards I've heard about).

I consider j@m tops and second only to Engelhard.....
Many may say Swiss pamp as well but I am speaking old pours or stamps specifically.....
This is an amazing colored bar one of the best tone examples I have seen. It won't tarnish darker to black in your lifetime either I would think Barry-but a grandson down the line may get it darker. Who cares it will be worth a small fortune by then regardless of its appearance.....

Quote: Barry, really like your pandas and maple leafs nice job! Indeed so and let me 2nd that comment. BUT... inquiring minds want to know... is NOW a time to buy, seeing as to how Barry has just made a substantial buy? Is the inevitable drop in silver price now over because Barry is done buying? Have much dry powder available at this time thanks to recent IRA distribution. Will be buying soon... gold or silver... always the question!

I gave some silver proofs and 5 oz. ATB coins to kids for Christmas. I started doing this last year.

Yes me too, excellent point and idea, I gave my parents silver coins from the Perth Mint and Somalia elephants. As far as buying, lets see what happens with the markets reaction in the coming days to Congress and their games. Gold actually had a better week than silver on the week. lets see how this turns out going forward, both have a lot of hard work in front of them.

Yes I actually started with the 5 oz for the kids and little grandchildren last Christmas. When they came down to 204 last year, I bought this past Christmas gift as well! Something of value and better than some cash! I read an article recently as whether to give grandchildren 20 oz of gold or equivalent cash value? I surely would give the PM! Can't afford that but can these 5 oz as well as the silver quarter proofs that started in 2010

Hmmmmm.... Silver is currently back down to $30.20. I feel another buying opportunity coming...
