Sometime on Christmas Day, T&R Coins at 5624 SW 29th street in Topeka, KS was the victim of a burglary. In this burglary, several thousand dollars in coins were taken from the store. The two possible suspects are listed as unknown race makes, one wearing a plaid hooded sweatshirt and and jeans and the other wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

If you see any suspicious Craigslist postings or see a large amount of rare coins being spent, please report this to the Topeka Police Department at the following numbers: 785-368-9200(dispatch) or 785-368-9464(report desk). The case number for this report is 30044-12.

I will visit the coin shop later in the week and try to get a list of what specific coins were stolen and update this topic with that info.
Rest in Peace

You're welcome. I hope your coins are safe! I haven't had a chance to get in there and talk to Terry because of my work hours. Hopefully I'll have free time on my weekend.

An antique store in the 500 block of SW Harrison (not sure of the name or exact address) was also hit on the same day. Coins were also the target there. My guess is that the two burglaries are related.
Rest in Peace

My coins on the bid board were safe, but they're still cleaning glass out of everything from cases being smashed. I didn't ask Terry how much he'd lost, but the damage to the store was significant.

The 500 SW Harrison store is the "Problem Solver". I had cameras in there for a little less than a year, about 8 years ago. Sold most of them. They did have some coins and tokens - I bought a no-date silver 3-cent piece for less than spot once plus some tokens - but unless they've added to their inventory since the last time I was in there, most of the coins were not high-value.

What a shame. When they catch these guys, and they will, I hope they get stiff prison time!
Glad your coins were safe pls.

Well I haven't personally been in there since the burglary yet... But my fiance went in the other day to get me some supplies. Terry said that the burglars knew coins and took all of his silver (about $20,000.00). The burglars also smashed about half of his display cases and took display trays.
