This 1848-D ANACS AU50 details-scratched:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1848-D-5-Go...280996001282

And, presto-changeo, the coin has shed it's ANACS holder and any mention of the scratches:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-KEY-DA...230903199049

Another reason why NOT to buy expensive RAW coins on ebay.

And, presto-changeo, the coin has shed it's PCGS holder and any mention of the tooled surfaces:

And another crack-out from this seller:
This 1861 PCGS-cleaning:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1861-U...320993709100
And, presto-changeo, the coin has shed it's PCGS holder and any mention of the cleaning:

Sounds like the seller needs to be reported. I have decided to only buy silver or gold dollars if they are graded by pcgs and are in a holder.

The 1848-D from the 1st post has juiced images in the "cracked-out" photos. That is a problem and should be reported.

What is the userid of this guy? Reporting him to ebay isn't going to stop this guy from ripping people off this way. He needs to be reported to law enforcement so they can put a stop to this illegal activity.

I don't sell on ebay. Is it possible for him to just change his user name and start again under a different name?

his user id is mdow30. he has just been NARU'd by ebay today. Apparently there were many here that helped report this guy to ebay's ccw. Another bad guy bites the dust. good work

really? its illegal? or is it a case of Malum in se?

i vote the latter and do not think law enforcement can get involved. Its not a case of known counterfeiting sales, its a case of offense to the morals that drive the ethical half of the collecting community.
