12/23 Marcus Aurelius returns to Rome. After almost 8 years of fighting the first Marcomanni War, Marcus Aurelius finally returns to Rome. On 23 December, he celebrated his triumph over the Germans by erecting the Aurelian column (located today in Piazza Colonna, Rome).
12/24 Galba born near Tarracina. Servius Sulpicius Galba was born somewhere between Tarracina and Fundi. Son of Galba and Mummia Achaica, he ruled as emperor for less than one year (from June 68 to January 69), and given the name and title of Servius Galba Imperator Caesar Augustus. He was killed by one of Salvius Otho's (Governor of Lusitania) men. More than one hundred people claimed to have killed Galba, but when Vitellius succeeded him, he killed them all.
12/26 Geta murdered by Caracalla, at a meeting ostensibly set up to work out their differences.Geta and Carcalla were brothers. Their father, Septimus Severus, named them both as inheritors of the empire, and soon after his death the rivalry between them grew to hatred and resentment. Carcalla, the eldest son, ended up murdering his younger brother on December 26, 211, while in his mother's arms.

I love these posts. Now I have to hit the history books to get more info on the rulers and see where these places are.

Glad you like them. If I were at home, I would post a coin from each of the emperors mentioned. But since I am not, my avatar will have to do. It's Galba.

I dont have caracella, but I have something that really fits in. Yeah, I know, beaten up and plastered everywhere, but here it is again, Marcus Aurelius leaves Rome to fight the Germanic wars:

Nice coins everyone. Unfortunately, I don't have any of those rulers yet.

Really great info Bing! Here is a photo of a Denarius I used to own, Caracalla (Marcus Antoninus) as a boy, and as Caesar. I'd like to see a coin of Geta.
