Ok I finally decided it's time to order an Ace 250 so I'll be ordering it this week. I may have asked this question before but I was wondering what the best places to detect are. Public schools allow it am I correct? I have some emails out to some parks to check with their policies as well as having friends with large acreages(one even claims to have a bomb shelter where some bank robbers hid out in the 60's or so). Thanks for any replies in advance, I can't wait to get my detector!

EDIT: I forgot to mention I'm from Omaha, Nebraska so help with any good places to detect around there would be appreciated.

Congratulations! Sure hope you enjoy your new metal detector. I've had two detectors over the years...first one in 1980 and second one in 1990. I've not used one in several years now...too many hobbies, not enough time.

I enjoyed metal detecting immensely, though, and still have many silver coins in my collection that I found.

One is an 1897 Barber quarter that I found in the lawn in front of the little public library in my home town. That one is a prized possession!

Best wishes in your pursuits!!!

Some times it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission
