I have been thinking of collecting the Perth Mint Chinese Zodiac series then I thought how old I would be when the last coin is issued and I am not sure I have that kind of patience. Is it just me or do other people think about stuff like this.

How many years are they releasing them over? I looked online and the best I can gather is we're 6yrs into a 12 year series?

Maybe I am wrong but I thought we were 2 years into a 12 year series with just the Dragon and Snake issued so far.

I've been tempted to, but Perth has been releasing way to many different Lunar/Zodiac/Astrology series, I get confused.

I've just finished the Lunar Series 1, and debating on series 2 or the zodiac ones. I still think they should have waited for the Lunar Series 1 to end, before starting the second set. And it's just to overwhelming with these chinese new year coins.

yea ima tired of the Lunar stuff, I am also disappointed with the Perth Mint running as much of these also as they can.

Out of all the coins that dont seem to increase in value, unless they are older mintage, its the stuff from the mint, for that reason I am not picking up anything at all except for their bird 1/2 series and thats it.

Very disappointed in how they handle things over there.

Now that you mention those 1/2 ounce series, I just want to pull my hair out, ARGHZzz...

They have so many very nice collectable half ouncers, but for someone that wants to stick with 1 ounces, it kinda ruins it all. Like their bush babies, the birds mentioned above, and a bunch of other ones. Mainly the bush babies, since I love animals, cute little buggers.

It's almost as bad is Canada releasing their 1.5 ounce Polar Bear, GEEZ! Why that extra .5? Why couldn't they keep their WHOLE wildlife series the same size, or at least release it with all the different sizes. That Polar Bear coin has been bugging me ever since they announced the release of them. LOL.

Perth just needs to slow down a bit, stop trying to make an many sets/series as they possible can. The only good thing about having so many coins is, a lot more eye candy to look at, I guess. But it can be frustrating to keep up with them, considering most countries only got 1 or 2 coins to worry about each year, not dozens.

Im kind of torn about that. Part of what I like about Perth is the variety they have, but trying to do a series does cost a ton. I thought about trying to do full series with some of their war time coins like the famous naval battles or ships that changed the world ect, but theres just SO many different things from them I want.

At this point I just cherry pick the ones I want and if I come across more from that series at some point for a good price Ill add too it, if not oh well.

Yes I agree, theres many of those that are very nice, of the Bush babies, love the animals myself.

I did notice, APMEX and lots other dealers like slivertowne.com had them on sale at rather good prices.

Those are very nice,, probably the only coins from the Perth Mint I like at this stage.

if you want the whole set without waiting, buy the previous lunar series I. But then again, you have to prepare to pay for the price.

The Perth Lunar II series is 6 years in:

2008 - Mouse
2009 - Ox
2010 - Tiger
2011 - Rabbit
2012 - Dragon
2013 - Snake

In my opinion, this is the best bullion series out there. Get one of these in hand and compare it to any other series, and there is just no comparison. The 1 oz'ers have a larger diameter as well, so more surface area for their designs. As of now I have the 1/2 and 1 oz of each of these. I would like to also get at least a few of the larger sizes as well.
