So awhile ago I realized I had one of these. I beleive I posted about it a long time ago. In the 1963 Red Book, a few of them were made without page 237, and 239 was doubled. In the newer red books it mentions these and says that they corrected most of the printing.
I am wondering if anyone has heard of these and how common they are, and if anyone else has one? And if they know of any that have sold?

This is a very well known and popular RedBook error. If I remember right it doeesn't bring too much more than the regular issue. I'll check it out later today for you.

According to Whitman's "A Guide Book of The Official Red Book of United States coins" from The Official RedBook series this is the best known Red Book binding error. It was well known as early as 1971. When the error was discovered in mid print it was corrected. There were copies printed of the missing page to send to people complaining about the mistake. Since the error occurred in the private gold section of the book very few people ever noticed it and very few replacement pages were given out. There are supposedly some 1963 Redbooks with the extra 239 page removed and the 237 replacement page glued in by Whitman as a fix.

The replacement pages and the books with the glued in replacement page are very valuable. The error 1963 Red Book is listed with a value of $10 in fine condition, $15 in very fine and $30 in new condition.

I've got one of those with the missing page. Also, one with an upside down page. There are other Red Book errors mentioned on pages 417 and 418 in the 2013 edition. Possibly the only place you would find them for sale is on ebay. I've never seen a Red Book Book error at any coin shows or coin stores. Since there is no prices listed for those anywhere, if you wanted to sell yours you could ask any price you want.
As to how many of any of those were ever made, I doubt that even Whitman would know.

When I was reading this post lastnight I sent 2 emails to 2 different people selling those books and one said they never even noticed that those pages where missing and had 239 in there twice and the other had just one page missing maybe one was glued in they only wanted 6 bucks for the book.

I agree coin shows are tough for finding this type of collectable. I have bought some error Red books and Blue Books off of ebay. Numismatic book sellers are the best source for finding them. Some sellers are: Kolbe and Fanning, Fred Lake, David Sklow, Charles Davis and John Burns. If you do a google search for these guys you will find their websites. Another source I just thought of is Jim's Coins. They specialize in error coins but also have a list of Red Books and Blue Books for sale.
