It's a pointed 5 but, it's pointed the wrong way...

Could be PMD or, someone fooling around with it.

You can see the slash mark running parllel to the branch, cutting off the 5. Check out the small bud and stem of the right leaf -- they've been cut away too. The hazards of a coin being in circulation for over 25 years. I agree with John1 -- just regular old PMD.
