I did some coin shopping today at my local coin store and, I decided to have some fun in the world coin rummage bin. Every coin in the bin is priced at 25 cents each. I found a total of 30 coins for a price of $7.50 even. Here are my finds: - 1894 F - 1912H VF - 1918H F (x5) - 1818KN F (x3) - 1919H F (x7) - 1919KN F (x3) - 1926 Old variety F to VF (x10) Do you think I got a good deal? The best were the 1919KN which are valued at $10 in Fine. Is anyone aware of what an average selling price of the above coins are?

Good Deal, but not as good as it seems. Just a note... That value is inflated... Catalogue is $1.5 in British Fine. Which means you probably overgraded for the value, as the British Grading is a harsher grading system Here's a quick site for values: http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/values/penny.html

Of course you got a good deal! In fact I'm a little jealous of how inexpensive you were able to get them. I love bulk bins of foreign coins but my dealer goes over what's in his bin most often so it's hard to find good stuff, thats why I prefer coin shows, there are just so many bins there and it is hard to loose. I find it is difficult to not get a good deal on the older British pennies if they are in at least decent shape. Here are the values as listed by my world coin catalogues. 1894-F-$6 1912H-VF-$10 1918H-F-$4 1918KN-F-$4.50 1919H-F-$1.25 1919KN-F-$7.50 1926old variety-F-$2.50-VF-$7.50

I realize that the British grading system is different but, at 25 cents each, how could I go wrong? There were tons more of the 1918h and 1919h cents but I only picked the best ones. Total, I found probably over 100 of those two dates.

I did say it was a great deal.
I'll grab my UK catalog to see what they catalog for in GB Pounds, convert to $ and then convert to US grades.

In low grade you can't sell them for love or money. But at $7.50 for the lot...you can't go wrong.Ignore catalogue prices.

I'm actually in the UK now. I go to bootsales (everyone comes together for a huge yardsale) all the time. I meet my coin guy there every week. My son loves the half and full pennies from 1850-1930something. We pay £1 ($1.63ish) for 7 coins. If there are any specifics that you're looking for let me know and I'll ask him what he has and what grades he has them in. I won't see him until March due to the weather, but anyone looking for UK coins, let me know. If nothing else I'll keep an eye out while at the antique places. That's where I found my 1916 Merc in AU for a £. There are lots of good deals over here.

I was actually looking through my old coin box (had a bunch from when I was a kid) and found a 1902 Canadian Quarter. It's pretty much a slider, but its got a bit of silver to it at least.

I'll keep an eye out though. I don't know anything about Canadian, what should I even be on the lookout for? The easiest is anything before 19.. has silver and is usually worth more. Other than that I'll just check around for any high grades.
