In 2007, the RCM produced two types of pennies. One magnetic and one non magnetic. The magnetic variety is much more common and, the magnetic variety can bring quite a high premium even in modest grades.
Today, at the coin shop I found two 2007 pennies in a bin priced at 2X FV (2 cents each). I purchased them merely because they were in high conditions but, for some reason I had a suspicion that they might be the non magnetic variety. The first thing I did when arriving home after my big investmentwas checked the two coins with a magnet.
Both of them were non magnetic and in MS-65 condition
After doing some research, I have found some sources saying that the non magnetic were from mint sets only. I am not sure if that is correct but, I would love to hear your opinion on my find and, do you think that they are most likely Proof like? They look just like regular minted coins. How do you tell the difference between MS and proof like in a 2007 penny?
