Judaean-Herod-Agrippa-I-Ae-Prutah

Herod Agrippa I Prutah - Hendin 553

Again, seller's photo and attribution.

This is a low grade coin, but I ain't complaining since I only paid $6 for it. It's another filler in my Judaean collection.

Some more history from Wikipedia.

Quote:
Agrippa I, also known as Herod Agrippa or simply Herod (10 BC " 44 AD), was a King of the Jews during the 1st century AD. The grandson of Herod the Great and son of Aristobulus IV and Berenice.[1] He was born Marcus Julius Agrippa, so named in honour of Roman statesman Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa. He is the king named Herod in the Acts of the Apostles, in the Bible, "Herod (Agrippa)" (Ἡρώδης Ἀγρίππας). He was, according to Josephus, known in his time as "Agrippa the Great".[2] Christian and Jewish historiography take different views of this king, with the Christians largely opposing Agrippa and the Jews largely favoring Agrippa.

Agrippa's territory comprised most of Israel, including Iudaea, Galilee, Batanaea and Perea. From Galilee his territory extended east to Trachonitis.

I think so as well. When it gets here I'm going to try and give it a distilled water treatment and see how it goes.

Got to put one of those on my want list. Don't have any Judaean yet. I've been eying one of the Nero coins.

If you're talking about those under Nero, I would say Porcius Festus. I have one of those.

There are many types that can be found for fairly cheap.

You are correct, it is Porcius Festus. Haven't pulled the trigger on this one yet until I see if I can find something in a little better shape that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Don't want to high jack your thread, but what do you think one like this should sell for?

It's alright. I'd say in the area of $10-$15, or less. I paid $12 for mine.
