Alright, these just got in today. Both were very cheap coins bought just over spot, but I'm looking to improve grading and just want to make sure that I'm pretty much on par with the lower end grading.

The 1854 I'm going G4. The 1891 I have at VG8. What are your thoughts. Also, looking at the reverse of the 1854 there are three scratches vertical and three horizontal. They are pretty bad. I'm just not sure how well you guys will be able to see them. I'm still learning how to photograph coins. I'm still not happy with what is coming out.

Alright, honest question, where are you guys pulling cleaned from? The buildup around just off of the faces? The picture of the obverse doesn't show many surface scratches that I can see. What is the give away?
