Sorry, I've been offline sick for a few days.

The piece is listed in the Carlisle medal catalogue as number 1977/13. Minted by Amor, with a mintage in silver of only 100. CV in the 2008 price guide is $35.

Long time since I have seen one of these. Pretty sure that the one I saw in MR Roberts shop in Wynyard Arcade was a silver version.

I well remember the Queen in Martin Place Sydney in 1977.
I climbed a lamp post to try to see her.
I yelled out loud:
"Good on yer, Lizzie!" It was many years before she visited Australia again!
Perhaps I scared her off!

Les Carlisle's book has documented these medals. Sap has provided the clues.
The best way to find out is to go to the Mitchell Library or other main State Library.
If that is too much of a problem give Noble Numismatics (Sydney) a call, or see them with your medal if you are in Sydney, or perhaps any other main numismatic dealer, such as Downies or I.S Wright. At least you should be able to confirm by weight that way.
Quite often medals are silver plated copper, rather than silver, and finding the weight of the various versions should give you the clues you need.

I was in the WA State Library about a month ago, Les Carlisle's book was not on the shelf.
It would not hurt to request it at the front counter.
The WA State Library library is so easy to get to, it's very close to the main railway station.

Failing that, give Michael Smits in London Arcade a call, perhaps he may have a copy of Carlisle.

According to Carlisle, these medals were struck in five flavours: copper, brass, gilt-bronze, solid silver and solid gold. Only the solid silver one was made with a significant mintage (100); the others all have a mintage of 2, so were presumably struck for the Amor collection only.

It doesn't really have a "name" as such. Which would make it hard to find examples on ebay, especially if the seller had no access or knowledge of the Carlisle number.
