I still contend that they all look wrong, but if you are in doubt, you need to take them somewhere to verify their authenticity. Even though I do not like the looks of the images, still, they are images and it is hard to make a 100% judgement based solely on images.

I like the "how they were found" stories that go with fake coins / tourist trinkets.

No problem bobby, my pleasure. It would be cool you know if somebody can create a program or a pda or something that have all the fakes known with pictures and all and can be updated from time to time. This way finding an info regarding a particular fake coin will just take a second.
lol Masis I love their stories too very imaginative indeed eh...BUT this story is real (without going into details) where it was found the ground has thousands of years of history the Phoenicians, the Greeks the Romans the Hittites the Assyrians the Persian and on and on..Like almost all ancient civilizations occupied for a while then lost it for another and people have been finding stuff(beside coins) for many years on their lands while laboring it like they'll be laboring and bang all of a sudden they'll hit a ancient coffin or jar full of bronze or silver or gold coins. Also there seems to be unkown races or civilizations that seems to have flourished(not where the coin was found but somewhere else not that far) just for a little while then extinguished quickly after and the land is like in layers and layers each on top of each other.

UPDATE: All the 3 gold coins were melted down ! Greetings all, To avoid my coins of being used as a football tossed/conned around and sold from person to person I decided to melt them down. So I took them to a jeweler shop (a friend of mine) and melted them down in front of me then squeezed them into this.....A shewing gum form !...Juuussst beautiful..Don't you think so!?

An old post, but reading again from the description given: Quote: "(without going into details) where it was found the ground has thousands of years of history the Phoenicians, the Greeks the Romans the Hittites the Assyrians the Persian and on and on." So I guess they were "found" in the Lebanon. Invaded by the Hittites, heartland of the Phoenicians, occupied by the Assyrians, the Persians, the Greeks and Romans. The Lebanon is notorious for the production of Fake "ancient" coins. Anyhow, did the Jeweller tell you how many Karats are the Gold? You can then check the Spot price online and sell it based on that price. Last time I checked it was $1,315 per 24 Karat Ounce.

Hi again,
Thanks Ben..Yes like I mentioned in a previous thread, the 3 were made of gold. I'm gonna hold on to it, they are still my coins but in another form :)
Masis I was told the 2 Romans were in the about 20k and the Greek one was close to 22k. All 3 were melted plus another small piece of gold together brought close to 19g of gold. The Greek one took a lot of heat before it melted down slowly and I asked the jeweler why is that? And he said it's pure gold with a tiny bit of impurity, pure gold have a high melting point.
Thanks Bobby..Indeed it taste great too lol. I thought of writing on the stick in capital letters FUF or F...You Fakers..And hang it around my neck and only wear it when I'm about to visit a coins shop.:)
