Just checked CC's site and your coin doesn't look like an RPM. John1

I looked on CC too but couldn't find it. Is there anything else it can be?

No offense John, but looking on CC should not be the determining factor in telling if it is an RPM or not. I submitted and was credited with two newly discovered 1961-D RPMs just this past year. I agree that CC is great for helping you determine WHICH RPM it could be if you indeed have one, but with the coin in the photos, it looks like a worn out D to me.

seal006, No offence taken. I thought right away it wasn't an RPM and just wanted to double check and CC's site is my "go-to" site. Quote: it looks like a worn out D to me. Can you elaborate please. Do you mean an S over D mint mark? The mint mark looks standard for the year to me. John1

EGADS I hit D instead of S. It is just a worn out coin with a worn out mint mark. Nothing tosee here, nothing to see here. My point was you should be able to identify something as an RPM or DDR or DDR, THEN go to CC to identify which one you may have by looking at the photos on CC and comparing them to your coin. CC does not have EVERYTHING, bt is the best place for us to attribute the varieties we find, well at least for Lincolns.

Agreed, that's why I said I thought right off it was not an RPM and then went to check CC's site to make sure. I have found roll searching over the years almost 300 cent RPM's so I have an idea of what to look for. Anyone searching for varieties or errors for that matter should learn what a "normal" coin should look like, that way when you come across a coin that just doesn't look right to you it will just jump out at you. Then you can use web sites like CC's and others too. And don't forget that there is always a chance that you could find a new discovery coin that won't be on a site so there is no way to match it up. I will leave that for you to decide. IMHO, Chuck, though often misunderstood, was always spot on.
