While on the topic of commemoratives, here is a story for you. About a year ago I bought this first coin from a dealer on vcoins, not long after, on the same day, I bought the second coin from another dealer for half the price. The second coin arrived just fine but the first coin never arrived. Eventually, after complaining to vcoins, I was able to get a refund on the first coin. The question is are these one and the same coin, offered by two sellers or are the they a die match, with matching patinas?

Interesting story - If they are not the same coin then they must be fakes, the only slight difference I can see is around the right wing. I think for whatever reason two sellers were offering the same coin. Good job getting the refund on the more expensive one I'm sure we have discussed something like this before, a seller who was 'drop-shipping' other peoples coins. Basically select a coin, copy listing details and picture (one of yours looks like auto-correct may have been used to enrich the colour), double the asking price and if someone buys simply buy the coin yourself from the original seller but have it dispatched to your buyers address. In the case of a $30 coin the drop-shipper makes $30 without even touching a coin or even having to post anything. In your case it looks like you bought both listings, the one from the original seller and the one from the drop-shipper.

Quote: If they are not the same coin then they must be fakes, My first thoughts as well. Quote: I'm sure we have discussed something like this before, a seller who was 'drop-shipping' other peoples coins. Just as I suspected. I guess my sale went in before he could get it drop-shipped and the coin was no longer available.. Ha Ha busted.

Makes you wonder how much money is in it for the drop-shipper, potentially a lot I suspect. I know of BIN shops on ebay selling at 4 x the 'average' price and suspect Vcoins will have similar people trying their luck hoping to catch out beginners etc. I know its not allowed in a number of ebay categories but not sure how you could enforce a no 'drop-shipping' policy. The only real risk is when someone else buys the original before you can Other than that just check your offerings have not been sold by the rightful seller every few days and wait for the orders to come in. You dont even have to worry yourself with listing research ,packing and posting, the worst aspects of selling.

I nearly got a really nice VRBS at christmas - unfortunately, some technical mishaps meant we missed the bid.
In my experience of looking at uncleaned lots, I think you could get one on the cheap by finding a good one nestled in an uncleaned lot - they are very common coins and arent hard to discern from the coins around them. Its all about finding one in good nick.

Its the exact same coin. I doubt the coin is fake, I think its the same coin. look at the blemish infront of Big C's mouth, its the same on both photos, it would be difficult to duplicte that. I have seen trusted sellers sell coins, with slightly different photos under different names, on different sites. Or have different stores with acess to other inventory.
