Buying rare coins is definetly an expensive persuit, so I haven't bought any more coins since I completed the 7070 basic set.. until today. I became intrigued by the Capped Bust quarters and the difficulty in finding a problem-free example at the right price.

Today, I just purchased a much nicer example off of ebay than the one currently housed in my 7070 set. This one is slabbed. What do you think the grade should be and what would you pay for it?

It's hard to tell based on the pictures. If by chance it is a MS-60 something then I wouldn't crack it out of the slab. Those grades can be subjective and if you have that grade then you want to keep it. Don't crack it out if it's mint state...my opinion.

Wow! Looks like an older small ANACS holder. I'll guess ANACS AU-55 and looking at comparable coins I'd say you had to spend some serious dough (in excess of $750) for this one and rightfully so its a beauty. Like the others I don't believe that you should crack this one out. Congrats!

The coin appears to have the details of a AU-55/58 but the surfaces look washed out which I am not sure if it is the result of the lighting or if the coin actually looks like that.

I agree with AU55 and, assuming it's problem-free, would run around $700.

She is a beauty at AU53! It appears to an old ANACS slab...around 7 bills would be the norm.

Darker toning but I find this beauty very attractive! So curious on the ticket price.
