1812 $5 Bust gold on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1812-Capped...190814679713

Seller cracked this coin out of it's NGC AU details-'removed from Jewelry' holder:
http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...1&lotNo=7093

seller touts this as an "original coin", but, neglects to mention the obvious rim crimping from having been in a jewelery mount.

They are the same. It's a shame when people do that.

The slabbed coin sold for $2820 including buyer's fee. Current bid on the cracked piece is $2883, with 13 hours to go. Let's hope that is already the high bid and the seller won't get the big (fradulant) pay-off they are hoping for.

Hey there you can't deny it is one of the nicest coins you've seen removed from jewelry, in my opinion anyway. Just a couple of rim nicks that's all. I've seen way worse. I agree with dsfreeworld.
