2010 "square" Silver/Gold Plated 3 Dollar Coins - Corroding?

Marc D Valued Member 92 Posts	Posted 01/08/2013 11:13 am Good Day Folks - I have purchased, in 2010, all four 3 Dollar coins with Canadian Wildlife depicted on the reverse. One of them, specifically the "Barn Owl" appears to be spotted or pitted now. It almost looks like the gold plating is starting to flake off. As anyone seen this occur before on this series? Only six exist http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-Square...em27ce89b9f4 With regard to the previous discussion, I don't think the 2010 Owls have the black foam that was thought to be the issue with the 2006 Beavers but they seem to be suffering a similar fate.
