Having trouble finding any examples of a solid serial numbered note with a star. I am curious to know what kind of premium would be added to the note.

I have read that they exist, but where and how much?

That would be a FANTASTIC find!

I can't access this website at work, but the webmaster states that "one of six know solid # Star Noters" (internet cache);

http://www.rarestarnotes.com/

I found one, the seller (jhonecash.com) has had it for (apparently) three years and seems that no one can touch it without a 5-figure bank account balance ($17,500);

Don't you just hate it when someone posts a link but no images?

The grid-like background behing Washington reminds me of Max Headroom...I think that I am dating myself.

There are a lot of factors at play. Star note runs were not very high. Just to get to solid ones there have to be more than 11 million star notes printed. Furthermore, are you looking at the value for a federal reserve note, or something more exotic like a silver certificate or legal tender?

If we are talking about just the super generic, modern $1, solid 1s, in fine, I think you are looking at something like $7,500.

Fancy SN (solid's and low's) Star's, $2's and $100's are difficult to price. It's a niche market and you have to find the right buyer.

IF you have one take your time and research it.

Edit below.
The same applies to radars / repeaters and binaries as well on stars and $2's. $100's are sort of different as not many collect them but there are collectors who would go after solids etc.

It's an anti-counterfeiting measure. All kinds of weird patterns show up when you try to scan or photocopy a note.
