As the title said is this a real ink smear? I dont think its worth what he is asking but I was thinking about making him an offer. But I thot that ink smears had to be horizontal. The colors seem to match, at least on my phone and it doesn't bleed through to the otherside. I was unsure, still so much to learn, so I figured id ask tbe experts. Thanks in advance!

Can't send an offer on an auction, but I don't know enough about paper to answer your question. Looks to be legit...

Yes I was going wait and see if anyone bid on it. I asked him how he aquired it and this was his reply.

Hi, I was the head teller at a BayBank branch in Cambridge Ma in the early 90's. I would have to verify fed packs that we ordered before giving the money to my tellers. This bill was right on the bottom of one of those packs.

Since it never made it into circulation or through a money counter it's in very good shape. Probably why the ink texture is so vivid as well. Thanks, Pete

Sounds like a typical ebay story to me. I thot about calling the bank to see if he actually worked there. Lol.
