Thanks all! I've been meaning to expand a little more into this era of Roman history, and I found the opportunity with these two coins.

These 'rarer' radiates have some very interesting characters on them and don't break the bank Tacitus faked ancestry to Tacitus the historian, were it not for the Emperor championing his works he may not have been as well remembered today. Tacitus the Emperor lived to the ripe old age of 76 but only ruled for about a year. He was though lucky enough to die of fever and old age unlike many of the other 'radiates'.

Quote: He was though lucky enough to die of fever and old age unlike many of the other 'radiates'. Yeah, sticky deaths seemed to be the in-thing for emperors in that era!

Did they die because they were sick, or did they die from poisoning? lol
Who knows back then.

Ok so I received it along with the Carinus today (nice coins in hand btw), and I go to attribute my Tacitus seeing the seller misid'd it. With Helveticas I got it as Estiot 2392, rated R Now I know it doesn't mean a whole lot and won't turn it into a $100 coin, but it is still pretty exciting for me!
