I have the Australian Lunar Horse.
I want to replace the capsule it came with. The coin moves a bit in the capsule. I want a direct-fit air-tite holder without the ring.
What is the coin size? and What capsule size I need?

Thanks,
mila_

I believe that the lunar coins (like the kookaburras and kangaroos) are 40.60mm in diameter.
You would probably have to get a 41mm direct fit capsule. Hope this helps!

Thank you, Snooba
Also, my way of measureing, I compared it with a Morgan and the Lunar was a tad bit larger. So the Morgan is 40mm?

The Morgan dollar (38.1mm) takes a 38mm airtite and the Silver Eagle (40.6mm) takes a 40mm airtite but with the foam liners! Hope this helps?

Thank you crystalk,
I hadn't thought of comparing it with one of my Silver Eagle's. In comparison the SE and Lunar are the same in size. So I used the capsule the SE came with, it fits perfectly. This capsule has a clear inner ring that will prevent the coin to 'jingle' when handled. Will be needing to purchase more of the same capsules in the future.

Thanks,

Quite honestly I prefer the airtites with the inner foam-like ring as it does keep the coins from sliding around. Glad my info helped you a bit! And, do take care of that horse!!! Its a beautiful piece of art from way down under!
