It is a really nice Ant Pius- but you know it is hard to top all those fabulous Trajan's you have been posting. But I must say I am really attracted to your Visigoth piece you showed in the last smackdown. Now that was awesome.

My very first Roman coin was a nice denarius of Antoninus Pius, in VF condition. I bought it way back 1968.
For $4!

Pulled the trigger on one tonight, but not as nice as the one you picked up malamute!

This one was mis ID'd as RIC 61 by the seller. So did some digging around and my thought is that it is actually RIC III 240.

I believe it to be RIC III 222

Antoninus Pius Denarius. Struck 152-153 AD. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P XVI, laureate head right / COS IIII, Fortuna standing right, holding rudder on globe and cornucopiae. RSC 270.
