Hi everyone! I have just found a 1974 "missing S" 50 cent peice that I'm curious about. I know it's hard to grade pictures, and I'm still learning how to take them, but please have a look and let me know what you think. Thank you!

Neat. I didn't know about this variety before. I guess this would be a Grease Fill in the die. Can you see any indication of the missing S? Apparently there are also missing A and missing A+RE of AD MARE varieties.

Here is a "normal" 74. What's missing in the coin of the first post is the "S" of Thomas Shingle's initials just below the shield.

Hey neat! I'll have to keep my eyes open for this one!
Does this command a significant premium?

I would have it graded. Appears to be in the low MS range from the pic.

hmmm, a seller on the bay just sold a couple graded at AU-50 for $25ea. Might be neat to have it professionally graded, of course I might just like the cash from it to put into something else...
thanks everyone!
