I have this Omani Coin(10 Riyals),it's the oldest coin in my collection as it was made in 1406.The camera quality isn't that good but...and by the way is this a very unique peace because it's from the 15th Century.

If I am not mistaken, Oman uses the Islamic dating system. This would mean your coin is dated 1406 AH, which is equivalent to 1985 AD on the Gregorian calendar

Cool looking coin, but to me, it doesn't look that old. The quality of the plancent and strike look modern.

I agree with Kefiroth, I believe it's 1985... That would be one amazing strike for the 1400's...

THAT coin is still dated 1406!, and Yes! It IS from the 15th Century!
I might be a bit 'tongue in cheek', but I'm still truthful!

Living in Israel all our circulating coins must be more than 5000 years old. The current year coins are dated 5773

The coin is too perfect to be that old. The rims are too good and the strike too strong in my opinion. It does look newer

It's a modern coin. I have one from Maroc dated in the 1400's, when I was little I though it must be worth millions. NOPE!

Wouldn't that imply that your circulating coins were minted in 772 then?

I've got some that predate even that.
(I believe they are from 1951 and 1950 respectively)

About the Omani coin (which is from 1986 btw), is not a 10 Rial coin but a 10 Baisa (which equals 0.010 Rials).
