A silver crown in commemoration of the 300th annv of the founding of Cape Town. I love coins with tall ships on them :). Any opinions of grade/value?

Very nice coin, I also like coins with ships. I'd grade this as VF. Krause list VF at $5.00 and XF at $6.00.

Hm... I think the ASW on this coin is 0.4546 or $6.36 at current silver prices. Echizento, do you know what the price of silver was at the time of the publishing of your price guide? It would be interested to know what kind of "quality premium" there is on the base silver price.

It's the 2007 catalog, so it came out mid 2006. It shows the coin at 0.5000 silver and .4546 oz. As of Friday silver was $14.01 oz. If my math is collect at 50% silver and under 1/2 oz. melt value is @$3.45.

oh, is the 0.4546 oz the weight of the coin, or the weight of the silver in the coin? Haha...

Sorry Yavaris, I stand corrected you are correct the actual silver contant weight is 0.4546. So you are correct on your value. Brain not working right today.
