Need a little help with this one.

I pulled this Barber quarter out and noticed some scratching on the neck, cheek, and a small spot behind the head. The rest of the coin is fine so I'm not sure if these are from a previous cleaning or simply from being scratched in a mylar flip

I've since moved this to a new holder but I'm still perplexed on this one.

I'm guessing those scratches are incidental rather than deliberate. They're in areas which don't require attention if you're deliberately cleaning the coin.

Thanks Dave, I thought it was not deliberate either but they were so vertical it made me think twice.

This was one of my last coins in an old mylar flip I didn't transfer. I'm guessing the handling of the flip over the years created scratches.
