I am having a bit of difficulty identifying coins by their images in online auctions. This coin:

Need-Help-Confirming-Brushed-Aluminium-5rm-1923A-Coin


looks like it's been brushed, see parallel lines on the reverse. Do you agree and to what extent would this put you off purchasing it?

It may be too late to help you, but I'll try.

I think the coin looks fine. I'm no expert on this country or era, though.

My impression with aluminum coins is that they do not polish or scrub well. So I don't think that's post-mint damage. They may be streaks from the planchet preparation or the die itself.

I'd take a chance on it if I were interested in that type and the price was right.
