I've considered that but I thought loss of light would be too great for the designs to really stand out. In hind sight I probably could have done so with the cent. Some hours of skill and talent have been invested here I guess that dessication of the pumpkin would be a major problem, which would lead to major cracking and breaking up. Fungal growth could be a problem as well. A water based sealant, which when dried or cured, could stabilise the remaining moisture content. Experiment on a non carved slab of equivalent thickness first. Report this Post to the Staff
