Just wondering if anyone has heard any rumors or has any predictions about what the sixth coin of the Wildlife Series will be?

Thought it would make sense that it would be the beaver, but that is the new $20 for $100 coin isn't it ? Beautiful coin.

Both my local dealer and Royal Canadian Mint contact said that there were issues continuing the series. What I hear is that the last coin will be at least very delayed if not cancelled.

Oh no, that doesn't sound good. Well if it has to be one or the other, I'm hoping for a delay. I was actually hoping they would ADD coins to the series.

that is a great idea penny4me, I think they should also put the dove design on the toonie since you guys won't have pennies anymore. I want to see that design used one more time, 'tis really ingenious yet simple. What can I say... That design is the best design for a coin EVER.

As for the wildlife series, they need to EXTEND it not limit it, there are so many animals not depicted like beavers, loons, owls, elk, foxes etc... I don't know how they can justify not including them as well.

I think a "hook nosed" Salmon fully mature leaping out of a waterfall going upstream would be a great 6th edition for the series... if they could pull off the design just right. They've put Salmon on coins before, but I don't recall seeing one like that . . .

The idea of a salmon is very good, but I guess I'm partial to mammals. I'm hoping they stick with 'big game' and go with something like an elk, caribou, whitetail, or bighorn. Man, so many choices. I wish they would keep going and make this a 10 or 20 coin series.

Whitetail was my second thought, they've done them well before on other coins. Two bighorn rams clashing would be awesome!

I agree 100%. The maple leaf is great, but for a similar premium, I'll pick these every time.

A think a permananet wildlife series is an excellent idea, and Canada has the biodiversity to support it.
