There's a British coin motto we don't see on here every day: EXALTABITUR IN GLORIA! Very nice find!
I think the fleur-de-lys in the center of the cross makes this Treaty Period, or post-1361.

I've had some great finds , I live in dorset so it's full of history . I've been lucky enough to find Bronze Age stuff , Celtic coins , roman and medieval bits I could post some photos of things if you're interested but I'm not sure which section to put them in .

I would love to see them, I'm sure others would too. I would create a post in the metal detecting finds section.

Well, your obverse motto only reads EDWARD DEI GRA REX ANGL; Edward wasn't claiming the French throne when this coin was minted.

Of course, I started off with a wide interest in all British coinage however through time I've started to focus on mainly late medieval coinage starting from Henry II to around Henry VI and also early milled, especially James II and the Georges(I, II, III).
I too am a keen metal detectorist however I have never found anything as good as you

That's such a nice coin! All the coins that come up where I live(north London) have been eaten by the acidic soil to such an extent most are barely ID'able. My best finds would have to be two Henry III shortcross pennies, a George I shilling, a gold ring and the odd post 1900 silver. If you like ring pulls, bottle caps and sandwich foil, you must come detecting with me

I know what you mean , I dig hundreds of signals for each decent find . Soils not too bad down this neck of the woods , the best condition coins are on pasture .

You say you detect in Dorset? I go on holiday every year to dorset and wanted to go detecting lasr year but couldnt source the detector. The local history is thick but doesn't extend much further than about 700AD.

Tell me, have you tried detecting the landslip on Lyme's beach? I got some nice things out of there just by eye.
