any sort of bullion coins with animals lol. Sheeshhh..
1- Pandas, seeing a sheet of them and wow you cant beat a whole sheet of pandas, especially the 2013 coin that features THREE pandas!
2- I love Somalian elephant coins. I got a 2012 silver proof set, paid a big prem, which I dont care because I MUST have elephant coins... which leads me to point 3...
3-Gabon has a 1 oz 2012 elephant coin with antique finish, and now a second coin in this series features a rhino coin from Congo I believe. (BTw I believe these are minted by a private mint, still researching)
In the end, my FAVORITE modern bullion coins are those with animals. Some others I love-
Canada Wildlife series American Silver Eagles (especially proof) Rwanda wildlife series -they have released Rhinos, elephants, gorillas to name a few which I didn't get in on since I was out of the hobby. Currently they have a proof and BU cheetah coin.
So, I am a big SUCKER for buillion coins which feature animals.
My last observation is- I would like to see more gold coins featuring animals. Would be nice if say that Canadian wildlife series did a fractional set say, in gold.

Hi guys!
yes thats very true. We do have gold eagles, which I love, and pandas, have those also. They are very nice. Even have South Africa Krugs with ... ehhh I forget now what that animal is exactly lol
U know, I LOVE the eagle proof gold coin, where you have the eagle family all together, majestic!
I do want a gold panda for 2013 since it has the three pandas.
I am also stalking a SA mint proof fractional set from 2003 that features Rhinos. oh man, where was I when these first came out!! Arrggg! haha!!

I forgot about that too.. the Roo from the Aussies. I love those also, very very beautiful coins!
Man, I been making a list and I Am finding it impossible to keep track lol :/
THEN in my travels, I see all the ones that were released while I was out of collecting and I am like dang!
BTW- The gold proof buffalo,, WOW I have those and what a MAJESTIC coin. I hope the US Mint was not teasing us with talk about a possible special gold Buffalo set this year!!

I want to see the U.S. Mint issue a silver dollar with a great-horned owl. It's one of my favorite birds and it will be calling this month and next here in New England. If you're outside listening after midnight, say, one or more of them will call you.

You can add one of the Kiwi series (1oz .999 Silver) - from the New Zealand (minted by German Mint)
Any coin from the Mongolian wildlife series (1oz .999 silver antique finish)
Something like Mongolian (looks like minted by the same mint, mintage 1000):
2012 Niui - Red Squirrel (1oz .999 Silver, Antique finish) 2012 Papua New Guinea - Anteater Echidna (1oz .999 Silver, Antique finish)
Beautiful "animal" silver coins.

The Kiwi series is/was minted in Germany? I didn't know that. They mint the Fern and the Fiji Taku in NZ. I wonder why they wouldn't mint the Kiwis there as well?

Yes, that's correct. The Kiwi Treasures series (Silver Proof / BU, and also Gold) has been minted in Germany.
You can check the details on the NZ Post website.
Actually I am wondering about the same: why not NZ Mint produced these coins?

Not US mint, but still US none the less... Check out the Alaska mint coins (I guess medallion's, but pretty much coins) and they have really nice wildlife series! The great horned owl would be cool, a peregrine falcon would be really nice too! That's my favorite bird...

Very true Nathan, great animal designs each year from the Alaska Mint dating back to 1989 I believe. I have a few different coins from their mint. They have silver proof set each year with coins sized at 1/20, 1/10, 1/4, 1/2, and 1 oz.

Sil- hmmm I had to read that twice myself because I thought the NZ mint would have done those... but now I see why a ton of German coin dealers online carry that series. You learn something new everyday! Btw I dont own a single Roo except on the gold nugget series that has been discontinued years ago by the Perth Mint so I ended up snagging the 2013 Kangaroos of the world set which features on silver coin from the mint of Poland and one from the royal Australian mint. What really lit a fire under me is I had seen these on the new arrival list from Downies.com and figured I;ll put that on my list for the future. Well, turns out they are not being sold by the Bank of Poland anymore on their web site, Downies is out so I jetted off the the royal aussie mints site and placed an order. https://eshop.ramint.gov.au/2013-Ka.../310256.aspx see link here
