As a novice Vammer, there are tons of 1921-P on VAM World and frankly I have eye strain now looking for this one the last couple of days.

I know we have some experts on 1921 Morgans Help!

Obv and Rev Pics and then the close ups. The bottom of the "L's" in dollar are but thin lines.

edit...16 berry reverse.

You're obviously aware now, just how attributing 1921's is. You may never know which specific VAM you have, without minutely recording die crud and pestering every VAMworld member individually until you find one who has both the time/interest in comparing and the known-attribution to match. Slim and none, and Slim left town.

With that said....

That's a neat little planchet lamination on the wreath. Not evidence of any specific VAM, but interesting all the same.

Yet more interesting is what's going on with the LL in DOLLAR. I've seen that before. Once.

I threw it up on VAMworld, back then, and it was immediately dismissed as a Grease Fill. That didn't compute for me; grease fills don't leave a well-defined edge unfilled. I filed it away in the back of my head, until now. With yours as a second example - especially with the second "L" not being a precise line, and the feature on the opposite side of the reverse die as mine was - I'm going to have to revisit.

Very Interesting similarity between the two coins. Yes, I knew I was up against a bigger opponent so I started eliminating what it was not. I could not come up with anything but thought maybe it was late die state of some other VAM. But it lead me no where.
16 Berry, no rusted dies,no scribbling scribbles (lol) no obverse hints, just the unusual strike at"dollar" and the lamination. I did not think it was struck through either, but I put it down for another day.
I will keep it aside. if you need any other photo's let me know. I may go over the coin again when my eyes get uncrossed.
Thanks for the reply.

edit- the denticles looked doubled or more at the rim along the bottom. It may be hard to see in my photo, but not in hand.
