This listing says "cleaned" instead of "acid treated".It looks awful but still has bids. Unbelievable.

The date looks acid treated, but the price is still reasonable. It sold for much less than a problem free coin.

Maybe it is both cleaned and acid treated? Maybe the idea was to conceal the acid treatment? You know how the acid treated area looks very different than the other areas. Those systematic lines on it suggest cleaning. They may have not been aware of the acid treatment.

I know what you mean. I just bought a lot where the coins'
dates were hard to see because of the lighting. All were restored. I mentioned to the buyer and he replied "
RESTORED ARE ALSO IN THE CULL AND FILLER GROUP TOO AS SHOWN". Nowhere did it said that filler coins include restored dates and the two terms don't mean the same. Is this in fact a 1913 D type II below. I included a 1914D example.

The 15-S has the look of a coin that was acid treated on all surfaces, not just the date or mm.
