On the news, NBC/WMAQ this morning they interviewed a couple that covered one of their floors with Pennies. They said they used about 60,000 Pennies (Cents for those that get irritated with Pennies). They said it took about 3 to 4 Months to glue each one down, all face up, and covered with Varnish. Got most from a bank at $50 each time. Also, many people gave them some that they had in jars around the house. They did sort of look for rare ones and found one 1873 Indian cent and one 1943 Lincoln Cent. They didn't appear to know what is or isn't really rare or valuable. I doubt they looked for large/small dates, doubled dies, etc.
How would you feel if you went there and saw a 72 Doubled Die glued to the floor and covered with Varnish?

There is a area of floor in the Oklahoma City National Memorial (I wish that I took some images) that was comprised of pennies that were donated to the Memorial.
